🎉Prize reveal 🎉
If you’ve hit 70 points in the Primary Bootcamp, this beauty is yours- and trust me, you’ll want to frame it. I teamed up with the amazing local artist Annabelle (check out her Bushwick store!) to create a one-of-a-kind piece for Bootcamp finishers: a NYC-themed Where’s Waldo… but instead of Waldo, you’re searching for the 2025 mayoral candidates.
The print features a packed, playful cityscape filled with iconic parks, streets, and buildings- and yes, a ton going on. You’ll be scanning for Brad Lander among joggers, hot dog vendors, cyclists, and a few familiar faces from NYC politics and culture.
The scene includes:
Seven 2025 Mayoral candidates
Flaco the owl
The Ghostbusters firehouse
Someone walking a cat on a leash
Mr. Mango, a local grocery store chain in Brooklyn that got famous during the pandemic for being a late-night haven for healthcare workers
The Zongzi lady, who sells incredible homemade zongzi outside of the Grand St subway stop in Chinatown
Corky Lee, legendary photographer and icon of Manhattan Chinatown
James “Jimmy” McMillan III, the leader of the “Rent is too damn high” political party
A rat right next to where you’re trying to eat
Thanks to all the friends who pitched in with suggestions for the painting!
Years from now, when someone sees it on your wall and asks, “What is this?” you’ll get to say, “Oh, that’s the print I won from doing a civic engagement Bootcamp in 2025. See if you can find Brad Lander! And Flaco the owl!”

It’s worth 10 Bootcamp Points to share your “I Voted” selfie on social media
Yes, voting is the floor, not the ceiling- it’s the minimum we should be doing to shape the future of our communities. It’s our civic duty. But here in New York, most voters don’t show up to the primary. Posting your “I Voted” selfie signals that voting is normal, expected, and worth celebrating. When your friends see you’ve voted, it reminds them to make a plan too.
Studies have shown that in low-turnout elections, especially local ones, that kind of peer pressure and visibility can make a real difference. Your one post might be the nudge someone else needs to show up too.
